Police searching for driver who fled fatal crash at 6th and Wesley in Sioux City

Sioux City, IA - On October 13, 2023 just after 9:00 pm, the Sioux City Police Department and Sioux City Fire Rescue responded to two-vehicle crash at the intersection of 6th Street and Wesley Parkway.

An investigation determined a Ford Expedition, traveling westbound on 6th Street at a high rate of speed, ran a red light and collided with a Ford Fusion traveling northbound on Wesley Parkway. The impact of the collision forced both vehicles off the road and into a traffic signal.

The driver and a passenger in the Ford Fusion sustained fatal injuries in the crash. Their identities are being withheld pending notification of their families.

The driver of the Ford Expedition fled the scene of the accident on foot and remains at large. Law enforcement are actively seeking information regarding the identity and whereabouts of the driver who fled.
