Sioux City Police noticed a vehicle driven by a wanted suspect at 5th and Market St at about 10:20 pm on Thursday. They attempted to stop the vehicle about 5th and Jackson when the vehicle took off from them.
The vehicle fled North on Floyd and then around the Northside where a passenger jumped from the vehicle near 17th and Virginia area, the vehicle continued racing around the Northside before it headed to the Westside about 10:30 pm. The vehicle continued to flee officers on the lower west side of the Westside before ditching the vehicle near West 15th and Ross in an Alley about 10:40 pm.
Sioux City Police K9 tracked a female, 26-year-old Samantha Justine Levering from vehicle to about a block away from where the vehicle was left. Levering was charged with Theft 1st, Eluding, Drivers License Suspended, Reckless Driving, Speeding, Fraudulent Registration, and Fail to Stop at a Stop Sign.
Citizens called in about the male who was believed to have fled the vehicle on foot on the Northside about the 1000 block of 17th Street.
