Police have arrested a second suspect in connection to the Fatality hit and run crash at 15th and B Streets in South Sioux City on June 24th. Police have arrested 18-year-old Joel Perea-Duenas charged with prohibited acts relating to minors. Police learned in the course of the investigation that Perea-Duenas provided alcohol and THC wax too Gonzalez-Diego at a residence in South Sioux City.
Nebraska law makes procuring alcohol for a minor a felony if it results in injury or death.

Maria Sandra Gonzalez-Diego, 19 was arrested in Sioux City on charged with OWI, her 3rd one. Her last one not even two weeks ago in Sioux City. Gonzalez-Diego has been charged in Nebraska with Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Driving While Under the Influence 2nd, and Motor Vehicle Homicide.
South Sioux City Police say she was Northbound on B Street when she struck a 62-year-old woman East-bound across B Street, Gonzalez-Diego did not stop.
About 10 minutes later a concerned citizen on the 1300 Block of Summit Street in Sioux City called and reported she was all over the road hitting cars. When officers located her she was walking away from her car. She has bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, poor balance, failed field sobriety tests, smelled of alcohol and blew a .292 on the preliminary breath test she refused the data master breath test.
Gonzalez-Diego was convinced of an OWI on 2/13/19 and arrested on 6/17/19 for OWI. She's facing charges in Iowa for OWI, not having driver interlock device, driving while revoked and public intoxication.

About 8:52 pm Monday evening South Sioux City Police and Fire responded to 15th and B Streets for a hit and run of a pedestrian.
I'm told there were many witnesses to the incident and that a woman was transported the hospital after being critically injured.
South Sioux City Police remained on scene for more than 2 hours and were assisted by Dakota County Sheriff's Office and Nebraska State Patrol.
