Saturday Evening, September 9th just before midnight reports came into South Sioux Police about a person who was struck by a Southbound vehicle on the 700 Block of Dakota Avenue.

South Sioux City Police and Ambulance responded to the scene where a male victim was transported to the hospital with critical injuries. The driver of an unknown vehicle fled the area without reporting the incident. Police searched the area, gathered evidence and are currently working with area businesses reviewing security camera footage to help identify the vehicle and ultimately the driver.
