Car versus Pedestrian near Sgt Bluff

We often forget to follow up on stories. Today we bring you hopeful news. We received reports and confirmed the reports that the boy hit by the car in Sgt Bluff on Saturday woke up today and also was able to nod and squeeze his doctors hand.

At 5:46PM on Saturday evening, Sgt Bluff Police Department, Woodbury County Sheriff's Department, and Sgt Bluff Ambulance responded to a Car versus Pedestrian accident at 1459 210th Ave, about 2 miles east of Sgt. Bluff.

According to a release by Woodbury County Sherrif's Department, Witnesses said the pedestrian, an 8-year-old boy attempted to cross the road from South to North when a vehicle traveling east struck the boy in the traveled portion of the road. 

The boy was transported to Mercy Medical center and his identity and condition are not being released at this time. No citations have been issued and more information will be released as it becomes available.
