About 9:30 pm Sioux City Police responded to 3rd and Lewis Boulevard in Sioux City for a traffic crash involving a semi and a passenger car.

Police say that 2 people in the car were killed, a 19-year-old male and an 18-year-old female. The driver of the semi was uninjured. Police were on the scene investigating the crash for more than 3 hours. Parts of the road were shut down for some of that investigation.

Preliminary investigation shows the semi was northbound and the passenger car eastbound at the time of the collision. The cause of the crash is still being investigated.
