About a quarter after 4 Wednesday afternoon approximately multiple officers and deputies from Sioux City Police and Woodbury County Sheriff’s Department responded to what was reported as a large disturbance at 17th and Jones.

As officers arrived on scene they requested additional and urgent backup. Officers secured the scene and began their investigation, five people were detained on varying charges including fighting, disorderly conduct, and aggravated assault.  

Siouxland Paramedics and Sioux City Fire Rescue responded for reports of an ankle injury.
