Child missing in Dakota County cornfield located by Siouxland News reporter

Dakota County Sheriff’s Office says they received a call about 12:30 pm on Wednesday August 22nd from a father who said he was measuring corn in a field near 160th and Hamlin Avenue East of Jackson Nebraska when his 3-year-old son wandered off into the corn.

Dakota County Sheriff’s Office, Dakota City Fire, South Sioux City Police, Nebraska State Patrol and Mercy Air Care responded to the scene to aid in the search.

Just after 1:00 pm Derek Krayenhagen from Siouxland News was arriving on the scene when he found the child walking on the gravel road, the child was returned to his father.
