Burglary call on Sioux City Northside ends in death

In the early hours of Monday, July 17, 2023, authorities from the Sioux City Police Department responded to 406 26th St., following reports of a stabbing and possible burglary. At approximately 04:19 a.m., officers responded to the location to find a male victim outside the residence, suffering from multiple stab wounds. Upon further investigation, they discovered another adult male inside the house who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

Both injured men were transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention, their injuries deemed life-threatening. The victim found with gunshot wounds succumbed to his injuries. The deceased's identity is being withheld pending notification of his family.

The Sioux City Police Department has launched an investigation into the incident, which is still ongoing.
