South Sioux City Fire, EMS and Police responded to the 3600 Block of Le Mesa Way in South Sioux City about 2:45 pm on Wednesday after a 911 call was received reporting a man was trapped in collapsed dirt at a construction site.
Responders were able to free the man who walked out of the trench on his own and was transported to the hospital for further evaluation.
I'm told that a dog, "Remo" barking alerted their owner that something was wrong. When they went outside they heard the man yelling for help and called 911 to report the incident.
