Concerned citizens searching crash area locate body believed to be missing Whiting woman

Monona County Sheriff's Office says concerned citizens searching near crash area located a body of a female believed to be that of the missing Whiting woman. The body has been transported to a Sioux City hospital for identification. The investigation is ongoing and no further information is being released at this time.

Monona County Officials are asking the public's assistance in locating Amy Pliss. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to contact the Monona County Sheriff's Office at 712-433-1414

The last time she was heard from was Tuesday morning April 9th about 1:00 am. Her vehicle was located near Whiting, Iowa on Highway 75 Tuesday afternoon, the vehicle had crashed. Personal belongings were found near the vehicle but there has been no sign of Amy.
