Man arrested after Hour and Half standoff in Morningside

Police say they were called to 2513 Steele St in Sioux City’s Morningside Neighborhood at 7:06 pm on Sunday, March 25th for reports of a family disturbance where a man was making threats to harm his family and was possibly armed with a handgun.

Upon arrival police found the family had evacuated the home and the suspect was armed with a knife. Sioux City Police, members of the SWAT Team and a Negotiator established a permitter and the negotiator made contact with the suspect, 46-year-old William Randall Jones, who ultimately surrounded to police and the incident ended peacefully.

William Randall Jones was booked into the Woodbury County Jail on charges of aggravated domestic assault.
