Possible Electrical issues at Ida Apartments causes smoke

Sioux City Fire Rescue responded to Ida Apartments at 19th and Pierce Streets in Sioux City about 8:40PM for reports of smoke in the building.

Scanner Traffic indicated electrical problems may have been the cause of the smoke, initial responders reported seeing sparks and power loss to the building. MidAmerican Energy responded to the scene. City Inspection Services and Fire Prevention Bureau are investigating.
